Avance Corporation stipulates its corporate ethics code as follows and requires all of its workers to comply with it.

1. Human Rights and Labor

1-1. Prohibition of forced labor

All workers shall be guaranteed free-will employment, and no forced labor shall be allowed.


1-2. Prohibition of child labor

No child less than the minimum legal working age shall be employed. All laws and regulations relating to young workers shall be observed.


1-3. Work hours

All workers’ hours, holidays and vacations shall be appropriately controlled so as to not exceed the legal limits.


1-4. Appropriate wage

All workers’ wages shall be determined based on wage laws and regulations, and no unjustifiable wage reduction shall be allowed.


1-5. Humane treatment

All workers’ human rights shall be respected, and no inhumane treatment shall be tolerated including any harassment or any physical or psychological oppression.


1-6. Elimination of discrimination

All workers’ individuality shall be respected in order to establish a workplace without illegal discrimination.


1-7. Worker’s right to organize

Workers shall have the right to organize for such purposes as collective bargaining, negotiating with management, etc.


2. Safety and Health

2-1. Workplace safety

The safety risks of the workplace shall be assessed, and workplace safety shall be secured with appropriate control measures.


2-2. Emergency preparedness

Workers’ life and physical safety shall be protected by identifying potential risks, preparing emergency measures and disseminating the information throughout the workplace.


2-3. Workplace injury and illness

Workplace injury and illness incidents shall be identified, and appropriate preventative measures shall be taken.


2-4. Workplace hygiene

Worker’s exposure to chemical, biological, or physical substances shall be identified, evaluated, and controlled. Measures shall be taken to prevent excessive exposure.


2-5. Considerations for physical labor

Physical labor shall be identified, and the environment and conditions shall be controlled appropriately.


2-6. Machine safety measures

Appropriate safety measures shall be taken and monitored for machinery in the production and other areas.


2-7. Facility safety and hygiene

The living accommodations provided for workers shall be kept safe and hygienic.


2-8. Safety and health communication

Safety and health information shall be prepared in the workers’ first language and clearly posted within the facility.


3. Environment

3-1. Environmental permits and reports

All relevant domestic laws shall be followed, necessary government permits shall be obtained, and necessary reports shall be prepared.


3-2. Resource and energy conservation

Resources and energy shall be conserved and used sustainably.


3-3. Chemical substance control in the production process

All chemical substances used in the production process shall be controlled based on the local laws and regulations. Efforts shall be made to reduce chemical release to the environment.


4. Fair trade and ethics

4-1. Prohibition of corruption, bribery, etc.

Healthy and normal relationships shall be maintained with politics and government. No bribery, corruption, blackmail, or misappropriation shall be allowed, and this absolute policy shall be maintained.


4-2. Prohibition of inappropriate payoffs and receipts

Inappropriate payoffs or receipts shall not be allowed to or from any stakeholders. No inappropriate payoff shall be made to any antisocial forces.


4-3. Information disclosure

Information disclosure to stakeholders shall be made following applicable regulations and industry norms.


4-4. Intellectual property

Intellectual property rights shall be respected, and the same rights of others shall not be violated.


4-5. Fair business, advertisement, and competition

Standards for fair business, advertisement, and competition shall be communicated. Any action to restrict fairness, transparency, and free competition is prohibited.


4-6. Whistleblower protection and prohibition of retaliation

The identity of a whistleblower shall be protected, and any retaliation is prohibited.


4-7. Responsible mineral procurement

Responsible procurement shall be practiced for conflict minerals to support the effort to cut off funding sources for armed groups in Congo and surrounding areas.


4-8. Protection of personal information

The personal information of customers, third parties, and internal workers shall be controlled and protected appropriately.
